Ethereum Dencun Upgrade: EIP-4844 (Proto-Danksharding) and Other Enhancements Explained

The Dencun upgrade (also called Cancun-Deneb) is a major Ethereum update scheduled for March 13, 2024. Its goal is to boost the network’s scalability and efficiency significantly. A key element of this upgrade is the implementation of Proto-Danksharding (EIP-4844), which is designed to make layer two (L2) transactions faster and significantly reduce gas fees.

EIP-4844 (Proto-Danksharding)

EIP-4844 (Proto-Danksharding) stands out as a leading Ethereum Improvement Proposal, also known as Proto-Danksharding, introduces “blob-carrying” transactions to reduce costs associated with posting Layer 2 rollup data to the Ethereum mainnet. These transactions, carrying blob data, enable more cost-effective data submission.

 

This upgrade lays the groundwork for more advanced scalability enhancements, particularly Danksharding, emphasizing efficient blob verification through erasure coding and data availability sampling. The Ethereum community’s evolving roadmap prioritizes modular scaling with a focus on rollups and data optimization.

SIX Protocol is preparing for a purposeful upgrade, in order to be a flexible infrastructure which is accessible by businesses, developers, and other infrastructure providers. This upgrade is the implementation of the modular blockchain concept to the SIX Protocol. 

 

The modular blockchain concept is an effective approach that has been widely discussed in the global crypto industry recently since Celestia unveiled the direction about Data Availability. After that, there are many global players like Avail and Dymension, and others, working on the modular concept to build the more effective blockchain infrastructure in the big picture. 

According to this concept, the core functions of a single blockchain network, which include execution, settlement, consensus, and data availability, will be separated. A traditional blockchain is like one person doing many jobs all by themselves. But with the modular approach, it’s like having a team where each person is good at and does just one job. 

This way, tasks are split up and handled by different chains, enhancing the overall performance and scalability of the blockchain.

Our new goal is to make blockchain easy, user-friendly, and safe for everyone. This fits well with how we already do business. We’re working on real ways to use blockchain for companies, building a strong base for the SIX ecosystem. This rebranding is a new step for us, as we aim to lead in blockchain innovation, making sure our services are advanced, easy for everyone to use, and secure.

 

Expand to the Ethereum Network for Growth

Ethereum is known for its strong blockchain network that is compatible with many top exchanges around the world. It also has a well-established ecosystem and supportive communities. These are the reasons we decided to bring the SIX token to the Ethereum chain. Ethereum is popular and trusted in the blockchain world, making it a great place for our SIX tokens to grow and reach more people globally. Since we have aimed for a global expansion, listing on international crypto exchanges is an important activity for us. In 2023, we successfully listed SIX to various exchanges including LBank, MEXC, and Poloniex. As a result, it’s much more convenient for our international audiences to get access to SIX tokens.

More than that, SIX token’s trading volume in Korea was skyrocketing during the Christmas campaign on Bithumb exchange. That is a significant move to emphasize the existence of SIX tokens in South Korea.

GalaxiaMetaverse, a leading domestic blockchain company, announced on the 22nd that they have established a strategic partnership with SIX Network for global business cooperation related to Web3.0. Through this partnership agreement, both companies aim to provide innovative technologies and services, supporting users to experience the Web3.0 ecosystem in a more convenient and secure manner.

 

SIX Network, a blockchain technology company, is a project created in 2018 by leading entrepreneurs from Thailand. SIX Network has been conducting business in various aspects to assist enterprises in entering the Web3.0 market. It has also been building decentralized financial services using blockchain and smart contracts.

 

GalaxiaMetaverse and SIX Network plan to collaborate on integrating and operating various solutions and services using their respective business capabilities, expertise, customer base, and networks. They will also focus on building a secure and efficient trading environment for digital assets using blockchain technology and utility tokens, Galaxia(GXA) and SIX Coin(SIX).

 

A GalaxiaMetaverse official stated, “In particular, SIX Coin has been actively expanding NFT and DeFi businesses based on various global partnerships and Bitkub, the largest exchange in Thailand.” They also mentioned, “Through this, we expect to expand our blockchain ecosystem between the two companies and enhance competitiveness in the global market.

 

On the other hand, GalaxiaMetaverse is actively collaborating with global partners and expanding its ecosystem by launching various services for users, such as Galaxia(GXA) raffles.
